Outlander inspired soaps,
made by the Soaping Sassenach
Ever fall so deep into a book and wonder, if I was standing next to this character, what would they smell like? Well, I did! As I read through the collection of the Outlander books series by author Diana Gabaldon, I couldn’t help but think, what would Claire smell like? And even more so, what would Jamie smell like? So, I blended my soap-making skills with my impression of these characters and came up with my Outlander soap collection:
Sassenach (Claire) – A blend of herbals and florals with forward lavender and rose geranium notes, rosemary, and ending with delicate florals of rose and jasmine. The lavender and florals for represent Claire’s English background and herbs represent her interest in the healing properties of botanicals.
Highlander (Jamie) – From a wood smoke scent, redolent of pine and cedar, to amber and sandalwood, with top notes of Fraser fir, an underlying musky earthiness and authentic Scottish ale, this soap will transport you into Jamie’s arms.
Heather (Jenny) – For a true Scottish woman, this scent captures the freshness of the Scottish Highlands. A true Heather scent that is feminine yet appeals to masculine tastes. Inhale the fragrance of a hillside full of wildflowers — woody and mossy, green and fresh, this soap has an invigorating floral scent with musky undertones.
